The standard
The Directive 2013/53/EU includes the obligation of getting the CE Marking in order to place recreational crafts on the Union Market that are intended to be used for sailing in maritime and internal waters. Everyone (manufacturer, importer, etc.) aiming to place on the Union market a recreational craft has to let it certified by a Notified Body.
The Directive 2013/53/EU applies to the design and construction of:
- units, also partially realized with a hull length between 2.5 and 24 m;
- watercrafts;
- components (antifire system, wheels, tanks, hatches, port lights etc. ).
ANCCP service
ANCCP Certification Agency, as Notified Body to the European Union, provides the service for the Certification of the recreational crafts according to the current related standard. The procedures for assessing the conformity to the Directive’s requirements vary based on the characteristics of the product and, mainly, on the product category type. They become real in different procedural Modules such as the EU-Type Examination (Module B), the Unit Verification (Module G) or the Full quality Assurance (Module H)
Interested parties
The manufacturers, importers, distributors and economic operators aiming to place recreational crafts on the European market, as defined by Directive 2013/53/EU, have to obtain the conformity certification that enables them to affix the CE Marking on the finished product.
The CE Marking, joint to the EU Declaration of Conformity permits the selling of the products in every Union country.
