Certification of Recycled / Recovered / By-product Content present in products Pdr88

UNI/PdR 88:2020

The Standard

The UNI/PdR 88:2020 reference practice – “Requirements for verifying the content of recycled and/or recovered and/or by-product material present in products” – defines the criteria and methods through which an organization can certify the minimum content of recycled, recovered and/or by-product material present in its final products.
This practice represents a voluntary standard that allows the implementation of a traceability and transparency system throughout the production chain, ensuring that all declarations regarding the recycled, recovered and/or by-product material content are supported by documentary evidence and independent verification. Compliance with these requirements enables companies to demonstrate their concrete commitment to the circular economy and environmental sustainability.

ANCCP Service

ANCCP Certification Agency is accredited to provide certification in accordance with UNI/PdR 88:2020.
The UNI/PdR 88:2020 certificate of conformity officially certifies the minimum percentage content of recycled/recovered/by-product material declared by an organization for a product placed on the national market.
UNI/PdR 88:2020 applies to products specified in the decrees issued by the Ministry of the Environment — both published and forthcoming — relating to Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM), and/or indicated in the delegated decree of the Ministry.

Who Is It For

The Certification compliant with UNI/PdR 88:2020 may be obtained by industrial or manufacturing producers who use recycled, recovered or by-product materials in their production processes and wish to certify the declared content.

Holding this certification is beneficial for:

  •  demonstrating compliance with recycled material content requirements for products, product components and materials included in building sustainability protocols (e.g. LEED, ITACA, etc.);
  • companies aiming to improve credibility towards customers and stakeholders, by certifying their sustainability through independent and documented verification of recycled material content;
  • businesses participating in tenders or procurement procedures with environmental requirements, thereby gaining access to sustainability-oriented markets;
  • operators committed to reducing environmental impact, by enhancing the value of recycled/recovered materials (contributing to the circular economy).
